Caught On Camera: 'Bad Samaritan' Robs Drunk Santa Cruz Man's Home With Help From Toddler

SANTA CRUZ (CBS SF) -- An intoxicated Santa Cruz man was given a ride home by a good Samaritan who turned out to be bad after he robbed the man's home with the help of a toddler.

Santa Cruz Sheriff's deputies responded to the burglary that occurred September 21st in the 2000 block of East Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz. The victim told police he was intoxicated and walking home when he flagged down a passing car near Sunny Cove Drive for a ride home.

The car, described as a 90's model dark-colored import with an unidentified male accompanied by a female toddler believed to be the suspect's daughter.

The suspect gave the man a ride home, where he waited until the man was asleep. Over a period of several hours, the suspect was seen on surveillance footage removing two large televisions, furniture, a laptop computer, golf clubs and clothing from the home with the help of the toddler.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male approximately 20-years old wearing black shoes, black shorts, and a white shirt and black beanie with multi-colored stripes.
