'Man Jose?' San Jose Named Nation's Best Spot For Women Seeking Eligible Bachelors

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) – For single ladies looking for love, new research has shown San Jose is among the best cities to find eligible bachelors.

According to the Pew Research Center, San Jose has 114 employed young single men for every 100 young single women, the highest ratio in the country. More than half of the men between 25 and 34 are not married.

High-end matchmaker Amy Anderson of Linx Dating has been hooking up hundreds of successful Silicon Valley singles for more than a decade.

"A lot of women actually now like the idea of meeting some of these tech wizards and computer geeks," Anderson told KPIX 5. "Because he's not only often commitment minded and a serious professional in his career and really smart, but has a lot of the DNA to be a great husband."

And there is no shortage of cash rich techies, angel investors and venture capitalists.

"There has been such a huge percentage of men moving to Silicon Valley for these tremendous job opportunities," Anderson said.

Other metropolitan areas that Pew Research ranked high for women looking for employed bachelors include San Francisco (6th), Los Angeles (8th) and San Diego (3rd).
