Vallejo Bar's Surveillance Video Shows Man Ran Over His Ex-Girlfriend With His Pickup Twice

VALLEJO (CBS) -- Police called it an angry man's way of getting back at his ex. A man used his truck to run over his ex-girlfriend, not once, but twice.

The attack happened in Vallejo around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Police believe it was motivated by a bad breakup.

Surveillance cameras at a bar caught the entire incident. You see women walking and not far behind them a red pickup truck pulls out of a gas station, drives in the wrong direction, and intentionally hits them both.

The impact was too graphic to show on TV.

Mark Salter witnessed the ordeal.

"He hit them both, and one went flying and when she hit the ground, he kept going and ran over her legs," he said.

Salter couldn't believe what he saw. He said both women suffered from what appeared to be serious injuries.

"Guts and everything out of her leg and it looked like it was off... it was gruesome, those ladies didn't deserve that," said Salter.

He said the driver returned to the scene shortly afterwards and led Vallejo police on a car chase.

"He had a flat tire but he was still hauling," said Salter. "They got him a few blocks away from here."

Police said they used a pit maneuver to stop the truck. They arrested 20-year-old Jon-Luke La Porte from American Canyon.
They said he was in a relationship with one of the victims.

"I hope he goes away for a long time for what he did," said Salter.

Police say both women are expected to survive. As for LePorte, he is facing 2 counts of attempted murder.
