SF Day Of Days: Giants World Series Parade, Halloween Hijinks, Critical Mass And Wet Weather
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A confluence of events will create what could be one of the more memorable days in San Francisco in recent history on Friday.
Those in and around the downtown area, get ready for 1) the Giants World Series parade, 2) Halloween celebrations, 3) the Critical Mass bicycle gathering which takes place the last Friday of each month, and 4) a decent dose of rain.
You can count on about a million people crammed along the parade route and swarming around the Civic Center area for the ceremony after the parade. While the 2012 World Series victory parade also happened on Halloween, it fell on a Wednesday, so people were thinking about going back to work the next day and not the start of their weekend.
Just a couple of hours after the scheduled end of the Civic Center ceremony Friday, Critical Mass will get going from Justin Herman Plaza at the foot of Market Street, which is just about the time the weekend Halloween revelry gets rolling.
For those traveling in and out of the downtown area Friday, bring your patience – along with an umbrella. Showers are forecast along with potential thunderstorms.

Both Muni and BART are warning passengers about delays and allowing for extra travel time. Buy tickets early, don't travel with bikes, and when you get on the trains, move into the middle so more people can pack in behind you.
