Stolen, Severely Injured Chihuahua Recovers; Reunited With Owner After Found In SF Tenderloin Dumpster
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Animal control officers in San Francisco were looking for help in finding out who stole a Chihuahua, brutally beat her, and left her in a dumpster in the city's Tenderloin district.
Eight-year-old assistance dog Kaley was reunited with her owner/guardian Lucille Williams at her home in San Francisco Friday, three months after she was stolen.
According to San Francisco Animal Care & Control, Kaley was found early last Saturday morning in the Tenderloin dumpster. She was in shock, suffering from serious injuries including eight broken ribs and head trauma.
She had been stolen from her owner/guardian in August, Animal Care & Control said.
Kaley was treated by emergency veterinarians and is recovering. Her microchip allowed officers to locate her owner.

Donations were being accepted to help with Kaley's medical bills by the Friends of Animal Care & Control's Emergency Medical Fund.
