Magnitude 6.1 Earthquake Strikes Off New Caledonia Coast

NEW CALEDONIA (CBS SF) -- A strong earthquake has struck off New Caledonia in the southwest Pacific Ocean Monday morning.

The magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck at a depth of approximately 6 miles shortly after 2 a.m. Pacific Time.

No damage or injuries were immediately reported.
