BELVEDERE (CBS SF) — Cameras will soon be taking pictures of your license plates when you enter or leave Belvedere.

Belvedere police say the goal is to curb crime in the city. It will be a few months until they are installed and will cost about $15,000.

The money comes from the city’s general fund and an individual donation.

Belvedere joins Tiburon as the second city in the areas to install license plate cameras.
