Boy Who Fell 230 Feet Off Bodega Cliff Awakens From Coma

BODEGA BAY (CBS SF) - A 4-year-old boy who survived a fall from a cliff in Sonoma County has now awakened from his coma.

Sebastion Johnson of Santa Rosa fell about 230 feet from a cliff at Bodega Head on November 10th.

Rescuers fought darkness and heavy fog to pull Johnson up and eventually transport him to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Oakland, where he was treaded for broken limbs and head injuries.

Doctors put him in a coma to prevent his body from going into shock. Now his father says he is awake and responding to stories from his mother.

There is still now word on what long-term health problems may result from the fall.

Johnson was on a hike with his family when he fell down the cliff at west end of Bodega Head, a portion of the Sonoma Coast State Beach that sits at the west end of Bodega Bay.
