Surfer Rescued By Coast Guard Crews Beneath Cliff House Restaurant In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - U.S. Coast Guard crews rescued a surfer in distress Tuesday afternoon beneath the Cliff House restaurant just north of Ocean Beach in San Francisco.

The Coast Guard received the initial call at 2:51 p.m. near the restaurant at 1090 Point Lobos Ave.

Coast Guard officials said the surfer was paddling out and experienced distress because of the waves and weather.

After being rescued, the Coast Guard's medical crew examined the man and found him to be fatigued and cold but OK. The surfer refused any further medical attention.

The Coast Guard dispatched one 47-foot motor lifeboat to execute the rescue.
