Magnitude 4.3 Earthquake Strikes Northern California Coast Near Eureka
EUREKA (CBS SF) – A shallow undersea earthquake hit off the coast of Northern California Thursday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or serious damage and officials said it was unlikely to trigger a tsunami.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake hit at 5:09 a.m. measuring a magnitude of 4.3. It struck about 70 miles off Eureka and Arcata at a depth of about 3.1 miles.
