OAKLAND (CBS SF) — AC Transit reports that many bus routes are being detoured in Oakland Thursday afternoon due to protests planned in the downtown area.

An “Umbrella March” protesting police brutality against African Americans under the slogan “Black Lives Matter” was scheduled to start at 4 p.m. today in the area of 14th and Broadway, according to event organizers.

AC Transit officials said the situation is fluid and exact detours cannot be predicted, but a list of affected lines is available at http://www.actransit.org/2014/12/18/detours/.
