Prominent San Francisco Exec Says, Opportunities Are Endless In The Tech Industry
Tim Bucher may be the only person in history who has served in executive roles for Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Michael Dell, learning how those leaders achieved product innovations and expanded their businesses. A high-tech serial entrepreneur who has created several successful companies over the past 25 years, his expertise lies in consumer media products, storage technology, cloud services, and e-commerce. He is currently the founder and CEO of Lyve Minds, Inc. a privately funded start-up focusing on creating a simple solution to enable consumers to enjoy their personal photos and videos on the go or in the home.
What is your background and education?
"I received my B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from UC Davis and my master's degree in Computer Architecture from Stanford. I'm on the board of trustees and the College of Engineering's executive committee at UC Davis. I'm also a director and the chairman of the GRAMMY Foundation, helping to foster music education in the schools nationwide. I was also founder of TastingRoom.com and ZING Systems. I previously held executive positions include vice president of software and entertainment content at Dell, senior vice president of Macintosh engineering at Apple and vice president of consumer products for Microsoft, where I led all tv product initiatives, such as Ultimate TV and the first DVR in history and a member of the original Xbox team."
