Police Release Sketch Of Man Who Exposed Himself, Proposed Sex Act To Kids In San Mateo

SAN MATEO (CBS SF) -- Police released a sketch this week of a man wanted for exposing himself to children playing in San Mateo last month.

The man approached three children, ages 7, 8 and 9, who were playing in the yard of an apartment complex near Cypress Avenue and South Delaware Street, on December 30 around 7 p.m., according to San Mateo police.

The suspect asked the children if they knew someone who lived nearby and showed them a photograph. Two of the children noticed that the suspect was exposing his penis, police said. Those two children fled the area.

The suspect then asked the third child for a sexual act. The girl refused and ran back home.

None of the children were injured, police said.

Police have searched the neighborhood and are still trying to identify the suspect.

Police on Friday released a sketch of the man, who is believed to be a 25-year-old man with a thin build, standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He has black hair and dark eyes. He had no noticeable marks or blemishes on his face and no facial hair.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call San Mateo police at (650) 522-7650.
