Pope Francis Shoots Down Speculation, Won't Visit California In September
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Pope Francis will not visit California as part of his U.S. Tour in September.
There had been speculation that he might come to the golden state after he announced plans to canonize Junipero Serra, who founded many of the California Missions in the 18th century.
Instead, the pope will perform that honor in Washington D.C.
On Monday, the Pope confirmed he'll visit Washington D.C. and New York, along with his previously announced stop in Philadelphia.
