VIRAL VIDEO: Southern California Paddle Boarder Gets An Up- Close Look At A Pod Of 5 Orcas

LAGUNA BEACH (CBS SF) – It was an amazing day for a California paddle boarder, who got a chance to interact with a pod of orcas while off the coast of Laguna Beach.

Rich German is an avid ocean-goer.  Earlier this month, he posted the video of his close-up encounter with a pod of five orcas.

In a Facebook video, he said he was at first skeptical about posting the video, but felt it was important to "raise awareness for these incredible, magical creatures."

He shot the video using a GoPro camera and it has been shared thousands of times, gaining national media attention.
