Brewery sans the Brew: Half Moon Bay Brewing Company

HALF MOON BAY (CBS SF) I went to "Bourbon and Beef" in Oakland and had bourbon, but I went to the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company in Half Moon Bay and failed to order a brew, major fail.  I was told that it was a kid friendly spot so I took my kids ages 11 and 14.

They have won a lot of awards for their beers and also have live music and dancing and free brewery tours for futures.  Also they are a great viewing site for the Mavericks and have a parking lot adjacent too.  The restaurant is less than a mile away from the surfing competition.

Historically it is the first legal brewery on the San Mateo Coast since 1813.

Even though the kids nor I had brew, we did eat.  My daughter had her usual chicken tenders and my son had a hamburger, both from the kid's menu.  Large portions and yummy.  They are both very picky eaters but ate all their food.

I had the grilled wild salmon, rice, seasonal vegetables, brussel sprouts, which I used to loathe, but if cooked properly, and they were, are quite good,  and house made tropical salsa for my entree.  Delish.

The restaurant uses "fresh, local and sustainable product and strictly adheres to the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Guide."

I will go back for the food, and the beer, and a tour of the brewery.
