11 Images That Prove Buster Posey Is The True #FaceOfMLB

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) - Buster Posey didn't make it past the first day of spring training before having to answer questions about being "the new Derek Jeter." The former Yankees captain was the best-known player in the league before retiring at the end of last season. With three World Series titles, a rookie of the year and an MVP in his short career, Posey seems likely to become the league's most recognizable player, right? Well, it looks like he's about to win that crown.

The 27-year-old is now in the finals of the Major League Baseball #FaceOfMLB Twitter contest. The winner will officially be known as the Face of Major League Baseball. Posey's rival, David Wright of the Mets, took home the crown last year, the first time the contest was held. Giants fans are very, very eager to see Posey win yet another award. Check out some of the best images and videos of Buster that they've dug up for his Face of MLB campaign:

To vote, fans must tweet with both #FaceOfMLB and #BusterPosey included.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Posey led Wright with 63% of the tweets going his way. The winner of the contest will be announced on Thursday.
