Daycare Provider's Boyfriend Allegedly Molested Young Girl In Hercules For 1 Year

HERCULES (CBS SF) -- A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a child molestation case that police said took place over the course of a year at a daycare provider in Hercules.

Carson Bartolomucci, 52, of Hercules, was arrested on suspicion of conducting a lewd and lascivious act with a child under 14, a lewd and lascivious act with a child under 14 with force or fear, oral copulation with a child under 14 and 10 years younger than the suspect, sexual penetration with a child under 14 with force of fear and sexual exploitation of a child.

Bartolomucci is the boyfriend of a daycare provider the victim frequented, and the victim's family knew him, police said.

The parent of a 13-year-old girl reported on February 12 her daughter had been the victim of a sexual assault when the victim was 10 years old.

The victim spent the night and weekends with the daycare provider.

Bartolomucci would wait until his girlfriend would go to work, and he would sexually assault the girl, police said.

The abuse continued for approximately one year.

Police said the victim did not initially tell anyone about the abuse because she was afraid.

On Wednesday, police went to the suspect's residence and arrested Bartolomucci.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the case is encouraged to contact the Hercules Police Department at (510) 799-8260
