Family Of Sierra LaMar Calling Off Weekly Searches For Missing Teen After 3 Years

MORGAN HILL (KCBS) – The family of a South Bay teenager who has been missing for almost three years, said it has decided to call off the weekly searches after exhausting all viable places where she might be.

Sierra LaMar disappeared on March 16, 2012 while walking to a bus stop on her way to school in Morgan Hill.

Some evidence was discovered that eventually lead to the arrest of Antolin Garcia Torres. He has since been charged with murder, even though a body has not been found.

The teen's family said they have run out of places to search for Sierra and that the last scheduled gathering will be Saturday, March 14th.

Torres is scheduled to appear in court April 8 for another trial-setting date. The Santa Clara County District Attorney is seeking the death penalty in the case.
