SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) — Nine puppies were saved by a good samaritan who spotted the pups beside a dumpster in Marin County Tuesday night.

They were spotted beside the dumpster in San Rafael, and brought to the Marin Humane Society to be evaluated.

The puppies appeared to be in good condition, and it wasn’t clear why they had been abandoned.

They will be spayed or neutered, and will be up for adoption about a week later.
