SANTA CRUZ (CBS SF) – Have you seen these photos coming out of Cape Cod? Massive icebergs washing up on shore.

Cape Cod photographer Dapixara captured images of a person standing next to the massive pieces of ice that washed ashore in Wellfleet over the past few days.

CBS Boston Chief Meteorologist Eric Fisher says this could be a “once-in-a-generation” event due to the extraordinary amount of ice on the Massachusetts Bay. The ice flows come after a historic winter of heavy snow in the region.

Meanwhile, in California, we’re left asking if that was really it for winter. Winter officially ends on March 20th, but as you can see from the Twitter photos below, Santa Cruz looks more like summer is approaching. Check out the contrast with our friends out east:

After mild showers Wednesday morning, the Bay Area is expected to warm up again late this week. With inland temperatures in the 80’s possible inland this weekend.
