NOVATO (CBS SF) — A 9-year-old boy was hospitalized after he fell through a plastic skylight onto the cement floor below at a Novato elementary school Sunday morning, according to a police sergeant.
The boy was apparently playing when he fell through the roof at Hamilton Meadow Park School, located at 5530 Nave Drive, Novato police Sgt. Sasha D’Amico said.READ MORE: UPDATE: Suspect, Victim Identified In Fatal Oakland Park Shooting in Front of Children
D’Amico said she believes it was a parent who drove the boy to the Novato Community Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. The hospital called police at 11:48 a.m. to report the incident, she said.

A parent was close by when the child fell, but D’Amico said it appeared the parent did not know the child was on the roof.MORE NEWS: State-Of-The-Art $27 Million Tennis Facility Opening At SF’s Golden Gate Park
