Man Struck By Car On I-580 In Livermore; Eastbound Lanes Reopened

LIVERMORE (CBS SF) --  All lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Livermore have reopened after a man apparently got out of his car and was struck by another vehicle there, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred near the Vasco Road on-ramp just before 6 a.m., according to the CHP.

Four eastbound lanes of the highway were shut down. The CHP received reports that a man got out of his vehicle either because it was disabled or he had a medical problem. The man was struck by another vehicle, according to the CHP.

A Life Flight helicopter responded to transport an injured person to the hospital.

The highway reopened just after 7 a.m., according to the CHP.
