Man Accidently Plows SUV Through The Front Of A Daly City 7-11

DALY CITY (KCBS) -- A man who may have had medical issues, smashed his SUV through the front of a Daly City 7-11 Thursday morning.

It happened at 8:41 a.m. on Hillside Boulevard at the corner of East Market Street.

The store's owner, Rasikh Ali says the driver seemed confused right before the crash. "He just backed up and then went full speed right into the store."

The driver, a 70-year-old man, was injured and taken to a local hospital. His condition is not known.

No staff or customers were hurt. But Ali says that was a lucky break, "A half hour earlier and someone would have gotten hurt. There are a lot of kids that come into the store."

Ali's store, however, wasn't so lucky. The Cadillac Escalade shattered the store's window and plowed through the interior. It will be days before he can reopen.

"It's pretty bad, it's all the way up to the cooler door," Ali said, "The bigger damage is that we're not going to be in business for a couple days.
