Abandoned Bloodhound Found Tied Up On Handrail For Hours In Watsonville

WATSONVILLE (CBS SF) -- A bloodhound has a warm place to stay the night thanks to some Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputies.

A Watsonville resident first found the dog tied up to a handrail for several hours outside the 4 Corners Market in town. Deputies were called out to the store to help him find a warm place to stay for the night.

The moment the Sheriff's Office posted photos of the drooling dog on Facebook Friday morning, responses began pouring in. One person asked if he's been scanned for a microchip, while another suggested deputizing him as Santa Cruz County's newest detective.
