Showers Expected To Hit Bay Area Over Weekend, Perhaps Bringing 1/2 Inch Of Rain

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Any rain is a welcome sight for the Bay Area, with the statewide drought now in its fourth year.

Although not much is expected, the region is expected to be hit with widespread showers over the weekend.

"The clouds are all associated with a very fast-moving cold front that will produce anywhere between a tenth and a half an inch of rain on Saturday morning. It's very quick-moving so it should be out by lunchtime," said KPIX-5 Meteorologist Roberta Gonzales.

The system should clear out by noon with partly cloudy conditions expected the rest of the day.
