After More Than 100 Years, San Francisco's Shreve & Company Jeweler Priced Out Of Union Square Building Bearing Its Name

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- After more than 100 years doing business in the same spot, San Francisco jeweler Shreve & Company has been priced out of the building bearing its name.

The famous San Francisco jewelry maker says it can't afford to renew the lease for their Union Square location.

The Shreve Building on Post Street was one of the few to survive the 1906 earthquake that leveled much of the city.

There was fierce competition for the space, and the jeweler will have to find a new location to move to when its lease expires next year.
