PALO ALTO (CBS SF) – A big announcement from Tesla is on tap for this Thursday, with the company expected to unveil new storage batteries for the home.

CEO Elon Musk teased the event weeks ago saying there will be a new non-car product line, and Bloomberg got a hold of a company email recently pointing at a home battery, something analysts say could eventually threaten the traditional electrical power grid if consumers hope aboard.

Deutsche Bank is giving Tesla a buy rating and a $245-dollar price target ahead of the announcement, and that’s lifting Tesla’s shares to their highest point of 2015.

TSLA is up as much as 8% in early trading in anticipation of the announcement.
