“I feel like if it wasn’t for my birthday they wouldn’t have came out here. I feel like it’s my fault,” Rosa said.
Rosa said family members were at their apartment on Murrieta Boulevard that night for her birthday and for Carlos’ first Communion. Her mom, aunt and 14-month-old cousin were outside taking the dog for a walk when police say the suspect Brian Jones lost control of his car.
Her aunt, who they’ve identified as Esperanza Morales, and her baby Juli died.
Police said Jones admitted to being at the Livermore Wine Country Festival. Hours after the deadly crash, he bailed out of jail, and was back out on the streets.MORE NEWS: Teenage Programmer in East Bay Creates Internet Study-Buddy Platform for Students
“I want him to pay for what he did and I don’t want him to be out on the street killing more families,” Rosa said.
