The 32nd Annual SF International Beer Festival To Bring 100+ Brewers, Local Eats To Fort Mason This Weekend
The 32nd annual iteration of the San Francisco International Beer Festival is headed to Fort Mason this Saturday evening, and with over 100 brewers attending, the event has sure come a long way since its humble beginnings. When the festival began in 1984, only five beers — including Pabst and Molson — were showcased, and visitors noshed on chips and hot dogs.
This year, around 4,000 people are expected to make their way to Fort Mason this Saturday evening, and will taste brews made by local heavyweights Lagunitas and Anchor, along with more exotic beers by Czech Republic's Krusovice and Germany's Braufactum.
And just because the brewery list is extraordinary doesn't mean it will skimp on the food. Look out for Rosamunde Sausages, Chubby Noodle, Swan Oyster Depot, Sliderbar and more.
More than thirty years later, the festival has now grown to include some of the greatest beers in world and the best local eats, all while making a big difference to local non-profit charities. This year's proceeds benefit the oldest co-op preschool in San Francisco, the nonprofit Telegraph Hill Cooperative Nursery School.
The 32nd Annual San Francisco International Beer Festival will take place Saturday, May 9 from 7 – 10 p.m. at Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion in San Francisco. Tickets are available here.
