San Francisco Police Ask For Public's Help In Brutal Attack Of 77-Year-Old Woman In Chinatown
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – San Francisco police are asking for the public's help in the brutal assault on a 77-year-old woman in the Chinatown neighborhood earlier this month.
San Francisco police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan said the incident occurred on May 10, possibly on Stockton Street.
"The victim was getting off the bus when she was assaulted by the suspect. We do believe there is a Good Samaritan who helped assist our victim after she was attacked," said Gatpandan. "That Good Samaritan helped her off the bus and had her take a seat on the sidewalk while she recovered. Eventually the victim was able to walk home and notify her family."
Gatpandan said the suspect reportedly struck the victim at least twice on the head. She is only described as an African American woman.
The family of the victim said she is a frequent rider of San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency buses. She often takes the 2 Clement, 3 Jackson, 30 Stockton and 45 Union/Stockton.
She is currently hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
