Stolen Dump Truck Crashes, Injures 3 In Daly City

DALY CITY (CBS SF) -- The street is still littered with twisted metal in Daly City Thursday morning after a police chase involving a stolen dump truck comes to a sudden end.

Police were patrolling the residential area of 1300 Isabelle Circle in Colma shortly after midnight when a suspicious dump truck was spotted and determined to be stolen out of San Francisco.

A felony car stop was initiated, with the suspect attempting to ram the patrol vehicle in order to flee.

An officer was able to reverse and escape danger and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit traveled through South San Francisco and Daly City, where the suspect collided into a minivan, causing injury to at least occupants.

The suspect attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and will be booked into the San Mateo County Jail upon release from the hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained from the collision.
