Man Assembling Gun Slams San Francisco Police Officer's Head Against Wall, Knocks Him Unconscious
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)— A man assembling a shotgun on a Western Addition street corner Sunday night slammed a San Francisco police officer's head into a wall, knocking him unconscious, police said on Monday.
The officer found the 23-year-old man, later identified as Joshua Boling, on the corner of Bush and Octavia streets assembling the gun at about 10:30 p.m., according to police.
When the officer approached Boling, he allegedly grabbed the officer by the waist and slammed his head into a wall, knocking him unconscious, police Officer Grace Gatpandan said.
Police swarmed the area to arrest Boling, who continued to resist arrest, Gatpandan said. He allegedly punched another officer in the face as he tried to fight the officers off.
Boling was eventually arrested on suspicion of resisting officers causing serious injury, two counts of battery on a police officer and resisting arrest, Gatpandan said.
The officer who was knocked unconscious was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for a concussion, police said.
