Woman Left With Brain Injury After SF Muni Accident Reaches $11 Million Settlement

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— A woman who was struck and severely injured by a Muni light-rail train in 2013 has reached a settlement for $11 million with the City.

Brynn Stoll was crossing the intersection of 19th Avenue and Junipero Serra Boulevard when she was hit by a Muni M-Line train. Her lawsuit said she was crossing with a walk signal and the train operator ran a red light.

Stoll underwent extensive treatment and is now left with a severe brain injury.

According to the lawsuit, the city long-knew that this intersection was potentially dangerous as it had the highest number of light-rail vehicle collisions in the Muni system.
