GUERNEVILLE (CBS SF) — Actor and Palo Alto native James Franco shared a selfie from the North Bay as he is filming a new movie, which is being produced out of Sonoma County’s Russian River area.

Franco is playing a role in Ian Olds’ film “The Fixer.”

The actor shared the selfie from Armstrong Woods with the caption “Smell the weeeeeed.”

Update: Our initial report indicated that the The Russian River Chamber of Commerce had informed CBS that Franco will be in the area for the next few weeks. Producer Caroline von Kuhn reached out to cbsSF.com indicating that this information was incorrect.
