Clover Stornetta Recalling 2% Milk Over Possible Plastic Pieces

PETALUMA (CBS SF) – Sonoma County-based Clover Stornetta Farms issued a recall of 2 percent milk sold in Northern California, saying there could be small pieces of food-grade plastic inside.

The dairy said reduced fat milk being recalled comes in gallon, quart and plastic half gallon sizes. The lot code of the milk in question is July 29, with UPC codes 07085284 (gallon), 070852-193007 (quart) and 070852-990828 (plastic half gallon).

According to a written statement Friday, Clover Stornetta is issuing the recall "out of an abundance of caution."

No complaints have been reported in connection with the milk and no other Clover Stornetta products are being recalled, the dairy said.

The dairy urging customers who purchased the milk in question to return it to the store for a full refund.
