Tentative 2016 Schedules Released For A's, Giants

(CBS SF) – Next year's Battle of the Bay between the Oakland A's and San Francisco Giants will take place over four games in late June, according to Major League Baseball's tentative 2016 schedule, released Tuesday.

The first two games will take place at AT&T Park on June 27 and 28, then the series shifts to the O.Co Coliseum on June 29 and 30.

The Giants will begin their quest for a fourth championship in six years starting on April 2nd, with a three-game series against the Brewers in Milwaukee. Opening Day at AT&T Park will take place on April 7th against the Dodgers. Meanwhile, the A's begin their season at home, with a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox starting on April 2nd.

Interleague play for the Giants will involve teams from the American League East, which will include series at AT&T Park and Fenway Park against Pablo Sandoval and the Boston Red Sox in June. The Giants will also make a rare appearance at Yankee Stadium.

The A's will play teams from the NL Central as part of interleague play. The Chicago Cubs and Pirates will make trips to the Coliseum, while the A's play the Brewers, Cardinals and Reds on the road.
