Suspect Arrested After 2-Hour Standoff With Richmond Police

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Police have identified the suspect arrested after a two-hour standoff outside his home in Richmond Saturday morning.

Danny Williams, 54, was wanted in connection with a domestic violence assault on a female victim that allegedly occurred at his home in the 1600 block of Hellings Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Richmond Police Chief Chris Magnus described the attack as serious and violent on Twitter Saturday afternoon.

Officers spotted Williams outside his home around 9:30 a.m., and he surrendered peacefully around 11:30 a.m., according to police.

Williams was arrested on suspicion of felony assault and making criminal threats, police said.

The victim is in stable condition, according to police, and her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
