Valley Fire 69 Percent Contained As Firefighters Gain Ground; 888 Homes Burned
MIDDLETOWN (CBS SF) -- A wildfire that has killed three, injured four firefighters and destroyed at least 888 single dwellings in Lake, Napa and Sonoma counties is 69 percent contained Sunday evening, Cal Fire officials said.
The Valley Fire started at about 1:20 p.m. Sept. 12 near Cobb in Lake County and has burned more than 75,000 acres, according to Cal Fire officials.
It is the sixth most damaging fire in California history based on the number of structures destroyed, Cal Fire officials said.

Mandatory evacuations are still in effect in Napa County for Butts Canyon Road west of Snell Valley Road, Cal Fire officials said.
Mandatory evacuations are also in effect in Lake County for Butts Canyon Road to the Napa County line, Cobb, Seigler Canyon, Loch Lomond, Hidden Valley Lake and all homes along state Highway 175, Cal Fire officials said.
More than 4,000 fire personnel are working to extinguish the fire, according to Cal Fire officials.
