Berkeley Man Finds $1,300 In Domino's Delivery Box, Returns It For Year's Supply Of Free Pizzas

BERKELEY, Calif. (CBS/AP) -- A Berkeley man who found $1,300 in cash in a home delivery pizza box struggled with what to do with the money.

KGO-TV reports Monday that Mike Vegas ordered Domino's pizza and chicken wings and when the food arrived, he ate one slice -- and no wings -- and put the rest in his refrigerator.

His phone started ringing and the text messages began piling up. The delivery driver had been on the way to the bank but forgot the cash in the box.

When Vegas went back to his refrigerator for some wings, he found the cash.

Vegas says he thought about what to do and took to Facebook to ask friends. Some said he should keep the cash.

He didn't. Now it's paying off with a year's worth of free pizzas, says Domino's Pizza General Manager Zia Mumtaz.
