Wayward Rain Showers Creeping Into Bay Area

(CBS SF) -- You'll want to have a light jacket on hand as temperatures could plummet 10 degrees and be met with light showers.

Tuesday is expected to be mostly cloudy coupled with slightly muggy, but lower temperatures.

A cold front to the south will likely push into the Bay Area in the afternoon.

"I cannot rule out a chance of a wayward light shower or sprinkles in the far North Bay this afternoon," said KPIX Weather Anchor Roberta Gonzales. "The main frontal boundary will slice through the Bay Area between 8 a.m. in the North Bay and the Central Bay before noon."

The cold front, which is tapping into lingering remnants of Hurricane Olaf, will fall apart as it slices south. Wednesday rain amounts will be from .10 to .25 of an inch.

There is also a beach hazard statement Wednesday for dangerous rip currents and sneaker waves.
