SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) — Sounds that prompted sheriff’s deputies to search the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael for a possible shooting scene Tuesday morning came
from a nearby construction site, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s officials said at about 11:30 a.m. they were responding to reports of shots fired near the civic center at 10 Avenue of the Flags.

Deputies checked the area but were unable to find evidence of gunfire. The sounds had come from a construction site nearby, sheriff’s officials said.

The area was cleared as of about noon.
