SAN PABLO (CBS SF) -- A shooting last week in unincorporated Contra Costa County is now being investigated as a homicide after the victim died, sheriff's officials said Thursday.

Dante Alexander, 25, was the victim in a shooting reported at 4:44 a.m. Friday in the community of Montalvin Manor, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies found Alexander slumped down in the driver's seat of a vehicle that crashed into his own home in the 1200 block of Karen Road. He was suffering gunshot wounds, sheriff's officials said.
