SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — It’s beginning to look a lot like an eco-friendly Christmas in Union Square.
Macy’s workers began setting up the annual holiday tree Saturday, and as has been the case for 5 years, it’s artificial.
In the interest of preserving the environment, the 80-foot tall tree has plastic branches and a fresh coat of rust-proof paint instead of pine needles.
The Macy’s Great Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on November 27, at 6 p.m.
