Rohnert Park Police Seeking Elderly Couple Missing Since Weekend

ROHNERT PARK (CBS SF) -- Police are looking for an elderly Rohnert Park couple that went missing over the weekend, after one of them had placed a 911 call.

On Saturday, around 4:10 p.m., emergency crews responded to the couple's home on Maureen Lane, after Szabolcs Walko, 85, called 911 to report that his wife was possibly having a medical emergency, according to police.

When emergency crews arrived, Walko said his wife, Maria Walko, 90, had health issues but was feeling fine at the moment and didn't need assistance. Emergency personnel advised Walko take his wife to a hospital to get checked out and Walko said he would, police said.

Personnel also contacted the couple's son, who lives in Europe. The couple's son said he would follow up with his parents to check on his mother's condition, according to police.

The next day, the couple's son contacted police to tell them that he had not been able to contact his parents and that Kaiser Hospital said they never arrived at the hospital, police said.

Officers went to the couple's home and determined their vehicle was not in the garage, according to police.

The couple's son said the pair has health issues and could become disoriented.

The couple has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Canada and could possibly be driving to Canada, the couple's son told officers.

They are possibly driving a faded green 2001 Toyota Camry with the

California license plate number 4NHV446, according to police.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the couple of their vehicle is asked to contact the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at (707) 584-2600.
