Sierra Ski Resort First In California To Use Recycled Wastewater For Snow

NORDEN, Calif. (KPIX 5) -- A Sierra ski resort has come up with a unique way to keep the powder on the slopes.

Soda Springs in Norden will be the first in California to use recycled wastewater for its snow-making.

The water will come from a nearby, and newly-renovated treatment plant.

The resort operators say its actually safer than made-man snow from surface water.

But there will be signs posted warning you not to eat the snow.

Other resorts are expected to follow as they look for ways to get around the drought.
