SFUSD: Campuses Are Safe Amid Threats To Los Angeles, NYC Schools
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Following a reported threat that led to the closure of all schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District on Tuesday, San Francisco police and school district officials said that no threats have been made locally but that officers will increase their presence in and around campuses as a precaution.
In Los Angeles, school district officials said via Twitter Tuesday morning that while "all students are safe," their schools would remain closed Tuesday because of a "credible threat."

A threat was also reported in New York City, but investigators deemed it non-credible and their schools remain open Tuesday, according to the New York Police Department.
San Francisco police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said via Twitter shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday that San Francisco police will increase their presence in and around schools as a precaution, but that there is "No threat in SF."
Esparza said, however, that the public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity to police.
San Francisco Unified School District officials said they are working with police as well as the city's Department of Emergency Management to keep students safe.
