Woman Stabbed Inside San Francisco Church By Transient
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A woman was stabbed in a church on Wednesday night in San Francisco's Mission District, according to police.
San Francisco police said the incident occurred at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, when a suspect described as a transient entered St. Charles Borromeo Parish on the 700 block of South Van Ness Avenue.
The suspect, a woman, asked the victim for the church's bathroom key, police said. After the victim told the suspect she didn't have the key, she felt what she described as a poke on her buttocks.
Five minutes later, after the suspect had already left the building, the victim realized she had been stabbed, police said.
She went to a nearby hospital for treatment of an injury that is not considered life threatening, police said.
Police have not yet arrested the suspect.
