New York Times Skewers Thomas Keller's Restaurant Per Se

NEW YORK (CBS SF)  -- Social media has gone wild after New York Times food critic Pete Well gave Keller's legendary New York restaurant two stars.

In an article titled "At Thomas Keller's Per Se, Slips and Stumbles", the Times food critic had very little positive to say about Keller's Columbus Square restaurant calling it, "respectably dull at best to disappointingly flat-footed at worst."

Keller, who is the man behind the perennial award-winning The French Laundry in the Napa Valley, opened Per Se in 2004. In the past the eatery had garnered awards and raves.

According to Wells, those days have ended and Per Se is no longer an elite restaurant.

"Is Per Se worth the time and money?" Summed up Wells. "In and of itself, no."

Social media sharks were quick to smell the blood in the water ...
