3 Arrested After Mormon Church in Concord Burglarized Twice Over The Weekend
CONCORD (CBS SF) -- Three people have been arrested after a Mormon church in Concord was burglarized twice over the holiday weekend, according to police.
Concord police officers initially found two suspects inside a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building at 1590 Denkinger Road at 5:13 a.m. Friday during a security check there.
Police heard suspicious sounds before locating the Concord residents, identified as Trevor Henneberry and Jiana Lonich. They were arrested on suspicion of burglary. The suspects allegedly broke a window to gain entry into the
church.
Evidence indicated that there was a third suspect that fled the scene, police said.
The next day, at 8:23 a.m., Concord police were again dispatched to the church based on reports of a burglary.
A church member called police after spotting a shattered window, police said. Responding officers conducted a security check and located a suspect, identified as 23-year-old Tyler Lear-Mayfield.
Lear-Mayfield allegedly tried to flee from the officers, but was eventually apprehended with the help of a K-9 unit. Police said he was arrested on suspicion of burglary and resisting an officer. All three suspects were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
